Child Protection

All the coaches are registered with British Fencing and have been checked with the Criminal Reference Bureau. Junior fencing takes place in the main sports hall. We actively discourage juniors from leaving the hall other than for short toilet breaks.

While we aim to comply with BF guidelines where ever practicable, we are not in a position to provide continuous supervision of changing facilities, or arrange for separate times of access for Juniors, as Adult and junior fencing times overlap. We therefore encourage juniors to come changed where possible or parents to supervise if not (male and female changing areas are separate).

Juniors should not linger in the changing area, but they may however ask the Welfare Officer to arrange supervision if they feel at all nervous. Junior fencing starts at 7:30 pm, and the changing room will be checked at 7:35 pm to ensure that they are clear.
